Tornado Warning Sirens

WHAT DO THE TORNADO SIRENS INDICATE?

MONTHLY TEST - 3 minute steady tone - This ensures sirens will work when needed. Sirens are tested at NOON on the 1st Saturday of every month. If severe weather is in the area, the siren test will be cancelled.

TORNADO WARNING - 3 minute steady tone - This means TAKE COVER and TUNE TO THE LOCAL NEWS MEDIA for further information and updates. The Township does not issue an all clear tone. Sirens are sounded when credible reports from spotters are received and/or the National Weather Service issues a tornado warning for the area.

ALL OTHER DISASTER EMERGENCIES (Example: Terror Attack, Chemical Spill, etc) 3 minute wavering or warbling sound - This means TAKE COVER and TUNE TO THE LOCAL NEWS MEDIA for information and instructions. There will be no all clear tone.
