Veterans Section

In 1976, Woodville Township, in cooperation with the Sandusky County Veterans Office in Fremont and the Woodville American Legion Post #455, set aside a section in the western portion of Westwood Cemetery for veterans and their spouses. The Veterans Section is dedicated to the veterans who have served in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. The Veterans Administration pays for the veteran’s grave and governmental marker, and the veteran’s spouse is able to purchase the grave beside them at a reduced rate. For more information about veteran’s benefits, contact John Kelley at the Veterans Office in Fremont 419-334-4421.

Each May, members of the Woodville American Legion decorate the veteran’s graves with American flags for Memorial Day in honor of their service to our country.
